Let’s Skate

I’m torn between writing about how beautiful this evening was with Sophie and just…not? We went to all the effort of getting to Geelong, we had a great dinner at a great undisclosed location, we skated and we saw the most beautiful things and then we did other stuff and we saw other things and the whole time we just couldn’t take our eyes off everything. It was spontaneous and brilliant, and I could tell you about it until you would feel like I have spooned your mouth with honey and it was dribbling down your chin. But one of the most important things I have learned to love in the past year is when things are just mine. So I’ll tell you that Sophie took these photos, learning about my new camera. I am too. They’re great, but there’s still some low light setting we’re getting used to so it was fun to work play around with those (that’s why I look kinda fluffy and blobby instead of sharp in shots). And that’s all I’m going to tell you about. The rest, the best parts, are ours.

It looks like such a glorious evening and it’s lovely that you will always have these photos to remind you of these moments.

Enjoy your new camera! I have a new camera, too, and I’m looking forward to testing it out with some adventures. It’s always equal parts excitement as you see what you can do and frustration as things are in slightly different places. But it’s definitely nice to have an extra excuse to get out and see some beautiful places with fabulous people for company.

I always enjoy the photos you share on your blog and I am so glad you have been able to post them here again.

I’ve finally got my hands on a Canon 6D Mark II. I found the swivelling screen so useful on the 60D that my short self really wanted it on my new one.
