Christmas Wish List

Since Christmas is right around the corner and I’m stuck on the couch nursing a fractured ankle, I thought I’d write a Christmas wish list. This intentionally doesn’t include vouchers, because of course I would love a voucher for any of my favourite stores and buying something specific that person wants means that when they get the thing, they think of you! Here are ten things I’d love to get on Christmas day.

Super Mario for Nintendo 64

I used to own this game but years ago the game cartridge died and I have never replaced it. It’s my favourite console game and I want to set up my N64 in my van so that on rest days, rainy days or down time I can play it with friends. I’ve put this game on my birthday and xmas wish list every year for about 6 years, so I’ve given up hoping I’ll get it.

Apple TV remote

Apparently being able to use your phone as a remote is useless when the Apple TV is no longer connected to the internet. So my only choice now is to replace the lost remote. It’s a good Kris Kringle gift too, with prices ranging from $10-$30.

Impala rollerskates

They have new colour way in ‘blacker-than-Wednesday-Adam’s-Heart’ which is divine, but my heart would sing for a pair in pink with yellow laces. To go with my van and everything else I own that’s either pink or yellow.

Versaille

Lubin Perfume

I already own Grisette, but I would be in love with any fragrance by this perfume house. The next ones on my list are Upper Ten, Black Jade, Kismet and Epidor (in that order). Black Jade was the signature fragrance of Marie Antoinette and if you wanted to find her in the Palace of Versailles (her bedroom there pictured above) you would follow your nose. Fragrance is one of the fastest ways to my heart so it’s no wonder that I’m a huge fan of my local source of artisan perfumes: Sweet Fern.

Climbing chalk

Ironic putting this on the list when I have just fractured my freaking ankle climbing, but hey, gimme all the chalk. I need it for climbing.

Dress from Pretty Dress Co

I already own two dresses from The Pretty Dress Company, but there is one, in particular, I need to acquire for an event next year where I do an iconic annual photo shoot. Can’t wait to style one of these dresses!

Hat from Birds and Fresia

I already have two Birds and Fresia hats and the next will be for Ballarat Heritage Weekend 2019. Last year I wore a velvet jumpsuit and this year coming I will be styling the entire outfit to match one of her iconic hats.

Hangboard

Since my legs are out of action, I need to keep my arms fit and strong ready for when my feet are back to carry me up the walls of my dreams. One tool used by climbers to do is a hang board. They come in a range of prices and styles, but as I don’t have one yet, any would suit me.

Masterclass with Jimmy Chin

Jimmy Chin is one of many icons with that you can access the masterclasses of online. He’s a legendary adventure photographer and one of the directors of the recent film Free Solo. This year I’ve had a goal of improving my landscape photography and I’m sure I could pick up a few tips from Jimmy’s masterclass. He’s not the only photographer on there. Annie Leibovitz also has a masterclass (she’s one of the best photographers in the world, photographing everything from the rock and roll scene to war fronts) as well as several brilliant actors.
