Last weekend was my favourite festival of the year: So Frenchy So Chic. This year our group expanded again. I was lucky enough to have two of my besties there this time, as well as my family and some people who make for really pleasant company and interesting conversation. Because my sister has a baby, instead of hanging out close to the music, we normally move somewhere to the outskirts of the festivities, set up a picnic and listen to the tunes from afar.
This year, I got our squad two collapsible trollies so that we could cart our picnic gear in and out super easily. One of our group was so clever that she got a flower crown made by a florist instead of waiting in the hour-and-a-half-long cue to buy one on the day. We got festival t-shirts, macarons, and crepes.
Aside from my very clever purchase of collapsible trollies, I also bought a four-foot-long collapsible table. The table could be unfolded and set to a low height, making it perfect for picnics. In order to make it extra pretty, we also brought with us a white table cloth. We also brought a heap of cushions to make lounging on picnic blankets extra comfortable.
The weather was so perfect! The last two times it was too hot for life. This time it was so perfect it was even a little cool in the shade. We got visited by a little family of ducks who seemed to know that a picnic meant crumbs. They napped next to our picnic blanket in the shade for a little while too.
I mentioned in this year’s ‘best of’ post that this event is one that I think a lot about what I’ll wear. I love dressing up for it and seeing what everyone else wears. This year I spotted a darling off the shoulder dress on ASOS. I also love a blogger called Miss Pandora and she wears pretty hats from Birds and Fresia. I thought one of them would go perfectly with my outfit and I was really happy with how it turned out.
