It’s such nice bicycle weather today and in celebration I’m sharing another blog post featuring this amazing helmet from Bike Pretty. Now if you’re a blog regular, then you might be saying to yourself ‘I haven’t seen that helmet before’. Do read on an the mystery will be revealed.
Well, it turns out that his helmet comes with interchangeable covers that make it look like a hat. One of them looks like a beautiful straw hat with a grosgrain ribbon. You can see the blog post about it here.
Now when this helmet cover arrived, I tried and tried but I couldn’t get the wrinkles out of it (read on to see how I fixed it). It has elastic around the bottom that naturally scrunched it up as it travelled without a helmet to me in Australia. I took these photos then hit up the awesome team at Bike Pretty to find out how to smooth it out like in their pictures.
They got back to me and told me to wet it, all over, get it nice a wet, and then stretch it out and smooth it, letting it dry. I guess I hadn’t thought of trying that because it hadn’t occurred to me that this wonderful helmet cover is an all weather designed item! I followed their instructions and it came up a treat, as you can see in my Instagram picture below, so I’ll be doing another blog post with it in the future looking less scruffy than it does here in this photo series.
