It’s that time of year again where I attend the world’s greatest music festival: So Frenchy So Chic. They always have a stellar line-up of delicious bands, and a perfect party soundtrack that you can listen to all year. The food and atmosphere are brilliant, and the day is always enhanced if you experience it in good company. I was lucky enough to have good company.
Even though I took a hat, I couldn’t spend the day without a
flower crown. It’s a So Frenchy ritual, so we went and got one not long into
the day. I also picked up a So Frenchy sun umbrella. Getting a flower crown was
important because I wanted to introduce a new section to my blog: Flower-crown
Fridays. I will do at least one post per month (3 per season) wearing a
seasonal or topical flower crown. There will be tag for you to search out just
these posts, so if you want to see more, check the tags at the end of the post.
I spent the day with my sister, my new nephew, my mum, my best friend and her partner. We decided to sit back from the stage with our picnic set up which involved chairs, rugs, umbrellas for the sun and plenty of picnic snacks and drinks.
Every year there are flower crowns that you can buy, CDs, t-shirts (this year designed by Yeojin Bae). I also finally bought the soundtrack for the festival on a record. I’m listening to it as I type this, with my new record player beside me.
The day was a hot one, and the sun moved around catching your body parts that strayed away from the protection of the shade. We ended up in a beautifully shady spot up by the back of the mansion. Clouds eventually rolled in deflecting the intensity of the sun and allowing the temperature to lower a few degrees.
One of the most fun things about this festival is seeing the style of everyone else that is there. Everyone dresses so dapper and beautiful from structured chic styles through to gypsy boho goddesses. There are always looks that make you want to be best friends with someone.
Then at the end of a good day of making memories, my sister and I went for a walk through the grounds and the gardens while the last band played. We took photos to share our experience and to also help us remember the day we had.
