Having grown up with two sisters, I’ve always had the pleasure of being able to extend my wardrobe by stealing from theirs. While this was a source of frustration in our younger years, our much older and wiser selves figured out very quickly that another lady with a stylish wardrobe is better as an ally.
My last trip to Paris with my sister Goldfields Girl meant that when I packed one suitcase, I really had access to two. It made a huge difference in what both of us were able to wear. We still do it often now. I wore her clothes to her baby shower. We both have the Stylebook app, and can send each other items of clothing to style outfits from. It makes that ‘I have nothing to wear’ issue much less of a deal. It also means that when either of us have designer items, we can both have the pleasure of wearing them.
When I was contacted by the great team at Her Wardrobe to do a collaboration, I laughed out loud. Their ethos is one my sister and I have lived by: looking for something to wear? Grab something from Her Wardrobe. They offer designer clothes, ready to wear to a party, the polo, a race day or wedding, and all of it is available to hire.
What I love about this is that, I save money, because instead of having to hand over a lot of cash to purchase a designer dress outright, I still get to wear it and then I can give it back. For me, I wouldn’t wear the same thing to more than one wedding (everyone is different, but this is how I do it). I choose an outfit that will remind me of that couple every time I see myself in it, and I always know whose wedding it is when I see the pictures. Her Wardrobe gives me an opportunity to wear something really unique, and not have to stress about a price tag if I’m in love with a designer outfit.
What else is cool about it? You don’t need to dry clean it. The team do all that for you. It comes with an express post envelope for you to send it back in.

I love it. A whole designer wardrobe that I can take my pick of, borrow it, and send it back. I was understandably excited when they asked to collaborate.
Especially when I saw that they stocked designs from Yeojin Bae. Yeojin Bae is an Australian designer who won the Tiffany & Co Young Designer of theYear Award in 2007 (among other notable achievements). When she was 15, she was the youngest student at the Whitehouse Institute of Design in Melbourne and graduated by the time she was 17. Even more than her designs, it’s exciting to wear something from an Australian making waves on an international level that is also such an inspiring career crush.
Speaking of inspiring ladies, this sassy lady asked to come
and have her photo taken with me. I thought that was brilliant, because so many
women lose their confidence at they get older, but she was confident, asked for
what she wanted and was bold enough to do it. She made the shoot really fun and
I was chuffed she wanted to get involved.
