This dress makes me an owner of a total of 3 Voodoo Vixen dresses. It was so much fun to shoot and we had a guest appearance by a very cute, but also not very photogenic cat. Gingham is one of my favourite patterns. It reminds me of weekends having lunch with my much loved grandparents, who had a powder blue gingham table cloth. My grandmother would make pea soup, to be followed by Mexican or curry, and then trifle or fruit salad and ice-cream. On the best days, my grandfather would come home from the shop with hot jam doughnuts. He was a cobbler, and would usually smell like leather and boot polish.
I adore this colour. It’s an apricot pink, and matches some shoes and earrings that I already have. It’s hard for me when the brands I adore are bringing out their summer collections while I’m in the middle of winter. How do you style a summer dress in winter? I decided to go for layers with a sheer shirt and a frilly petticoat. The dress is made of light and thin cotton, so it is ideal of summer heat when you would like to feel as though you are wearing a cloud.
While my sister and I were taking these pictures we got the cutest visitor. This incredibly affectionate cat wanted nothing more than to be loved, so I invited it to join us while taking pictures. It looped through my legs purring. Cats are the most elegant creatures, but really, this one lost out on the photogenic genes.
What even is this face that the cat is pulling. I have seriously been upstaged here. It actually has two ears, but what even. Really.
This isn’t a cat, is it? It’s like a bear, pretending to be a cat. A miniature cat bear.
