When I was young my grandparents had a house by the beach in St Leonards. One of my favourite memories of our time spent around those beach towns was my grandmother teaching me how to play the clowns at the fair. It is still ritual with me now, and I made to sure stick with it while attending the Perth Royal Show.
I also can’t resist the delicious fluffy pink clouds that are bunches of fairy floss. It is sad that the only fairy floss now available for purchase is prepackaged. I wish that they still made it fresh for you and had it on a stick for you to eat, instead the only sort available for purchase is pre-made factory fairy floss.

Show Day
Meet me at the carnival and bring with you a coat,
and we’ll walk through sights and sounds throughout the day.
Then when dusk arrives and the darkness brings the cold
Put on your coat and through the cold we’ll stay.
You can buy some doughnuts in cinnamon, all hot
and we’ll stand beneath the Ferris wheel and eat.
Then once the lights are sparkling and we’ve spent all that we’ve got
I’ll kiss your sugared lips while they’re still sweet.
