Isn’t she beautiful. This chair is apparently from the turn of the 18th – 19th centuries. It was one of two brought over directly from France. I fell in love with it and wanted to buy it. It was $750.
I didn’t buy it for a couple of reasons. I didn’t want to get it reupholstered. As you can see it has lost its lovely fabric from years of wear. The horse hair padding may be vintage, but I’m sure my dog would try and investigate it to the point of damaging it. In spite of that, isn’t it lovely? This was in a store in Clunes on the same weekend as our Lolly Shop adventure.
