Firstly, a huge thank you to all the people joining the conversation I started earlier this week about having a negative body image for myself, even though I’m quite a body positive person. It was great to hear from so many of you that even those of us that look like we have it most together, still have to deal with that negative inner voice though at different volumes. If you missed out, you can read it here. Today I’m showing you a treasure I came across on Etsy that has quickly become a key part of my wardrobe.
This skirt is from a European Etsy shop called Mokkfiveoclock. They make floral and block colour skirts and dresses, with a particular focus on custom bridesmaid dresses. I picked out one of their basic circle skirts in this salmon, orange and lemon floralprint. It goes with so many colours, as well as my new favourite pair of orange ballet flats, that I’ve been wearing it almost daily. I’ve been styling it for spring, but if you wanted richer tones for autumn, navy looks radiant with it.
It’s really well cut, fully lined and perfectly matches the measurements provided on the listing. The material is a comfortable natural fibre, so it breathes really well. My only regret is that I missed out on buying it during their recent sale that offered a second skirt at half price.
My world would be complete if they offered skirts in midi and maxi length. One of their red circle skirts in a maxi would make all my dreams come true. Make sure you take a look at their stunning dresses as well.
My friend Amy was over for the racing fashion events around the Melbourne cup. She drove all the way to Ballarat to spend the day with me so I took her around and she insisted on taking some blog photos with me. This was super fun because she’s had so much experience in the fashion industry so her insistence on being creative with each new shot was great, and she gave me loads of direction for positioning myself to show off the outfit well. It was great hanging out in the drizzling rain with her, laughing and enjoying her company. It was sad when she left, because good company never gets old.

At the moment I’m really enjoying styling and restyling a bunch of key pieces. I’m inspired by Eccentric Owl Blog and her words, specifically on this post here, about finding your personal style. I really need to be honest with myself and have a good hard look at my wardrobe, in the same way she has done. More to come on that front.
Until next time, lovers.
