Last week my sister and I got together with a squad of women we know who are small business owners, and we took a bunch of Christmas photos together to showcase each other’s products. Instead of styling stuff alone, it gave us a chance to hang out, combine our resources and have a fun time. The afternoon was with Mel from Local Pantry Co., Michelle from Bok Bok B’Gerk, JB from Pretty Special Cakes, my sister Goldfields Girl, Liv from Lyn and I and me.
The first thing everyone did to get into the spirit of things was to put on a Christmas brooch from Bok Bok B’Gerk. Michelle from Bok Bok hand designs each, then once they are laser cut she hand-paints each one and seals them with jeweller grade resin. My personal favourite is the nutcrackers, but I wore the Christmas pudding to our party because I had matching socks!
I’d made us some Earl Grey ice tea using the Larson and Thomspon range from Local Pantry Co., so lemon and some lavender. If you’re an Earl Grey lover, then you would have found this blend refreshing. I think Mel is going to put a recipe onto theLocal Pantry Co. blog soonish.
And what sunny afternoon is complete without some Pomegranate Tree cordial? We made up a batch using the Blueberry and Cinnamon bottle. I love this cordial so much. It’s handmade in Ballarat by a woman named Glenda and the flavours a perfect for picnics or cocktails.
When JB from Pretty Special Cakes arrived we all announced to her that she would be wearing the cookie shaped brooch from Bok Bok B’Gerk. Naturally. She makes the most darling cookies.
Have a look at some of the beautiful products everyone brought along to share!
JB made cookies and a naked cake and then she insisted the entire time that everyone must eat them. Which is ironic because it’s pretty hard to resist eating her cookies or cakes.
